继消费者提出某些商贩“以小充大”贩售鸡蛋后，菲律宾鸡蛋委员会主席NicanorBriones提出以重量或每公斤的方式出售鸡蛋
根据贸工部(DTI)的规定，鸡蛋实际上是根据重量而不是大小来分类的，例如中等鸡蛋的重量应为55-59克。
Briones指出：“每个农场其实有机器依照重量来对鸡蛋进行分类，但问题是，许多消费者不是批量购买鸡蛋，而是按颗购买。”
