当地时间10月21日下午，90名名寻求菲律宾政府援助以从沙特阿拉伯返回家乡的菲律宾人抵达尼诺·阿基诺国际机场(NAIA)三号航站楼。
菲律宾移民工人部(DMW)和海外劳工福利管理局(OWWA)表示，许多回国的菲外劳报告了与雇主的创伤性工作经历，其他人则因疾病而希望返回家乡，而一些人则存在移民违规问题。
其中一名菲外劳向媒体表示：“我在那里工作了四年零七个月，期间他们拿走了我的手机，不让我碰我的东西或掌握我的钱。但我还是忍受了工作，为了给我的孩子一个更好的生活。”
