卡塔庞在笼子里发现了大约20只鸽子，他被告知这些鸽子正在被一些囚犯训练为信使。

卡塔庞早些时候表示，他已下令对新比利比德监狱内的约100名狱警进行调查，原因是他们允许违禁品进入。
报道称，在为期一周的搜查行动中，没收了多件带刃武器、五支手枪、几包毒品和约100加仑当地称为“大号”的葡萄酒。
