菲律宾生力集团(SMC)在启动其雄心勃勃、耗资20亿披索的巴石河(PasigRiver)清理计划近两年来，已经从这条历史悠久，但被严重污染的河道中清除超过百万吨的淤泥和固体废物。
该集团表示，项目有望在8月或雨季中期前完全全部完成。
生力集团总裁兼首席执行官蔡奇文(RamonS.Ang)表示，由于使用了为这项艰巨任务采购的大型设备，该公司已经从巴石河的关键区域清除1,312,615吨废物。
该项目与环境部及其他政府机构合作，支持马尼拉湾(ManilaBay)的恢复工作，并在不增加政府费用的情况下实施。
