菲律宾中央银行周五表示，新发行的1000披索塑质钞票为非卖品，只值其面值。
当局将于本月开始分阶段发行1000披索塑质钞票，但在发行初期，渠道将仅限于银行的面对面柜台，因为自动柜员机和其他机器还需要进行校准。
新版和旧版1000披索将一起流通，旧版1000披索的正面为三名菲律宾英雄，分别为VicenteLim、JosefaLlanesEscoda和JoseAbadSantos，而新版的正面改为菲律宾鹰。
继有报道称，民众在网上以更高价格出售5披索及20披索硬币以及1000披索塑质钞票后，菲央行发出上述公告。该机构表示，旧版硬币以及纸币将与新发行版本一起流通。
