菲律宾吉马拉斯省(Guimaras)地方政府近日超过至少150公斤被偷运进入该岛屿的芒果。该省已被菲国家政府认定为生产最甜的芒果品种之一的地区。
警方表示，一艘来自怡郎市(Iloilo)的船停靠在Buenavista镇的港口，而吉马拉斯省农业服务办公室立即截获企图运入该省份的新鲜芒果。
在第2017-006号省级法令中，当局严禁将芒果带入吉马拉斯岛。除了果实本身被禁止外，种子或幼苗也被禁止带入省份。
当地警方虽没有具体透露走私芒果的违规者的信息，但表示这已经是他们第二次违规
